"Away Mission Special" is the twenty-fourth episode of The Ready Room, and the eleventh to deal with the Star Trek: Picard series. It is the first episode referred to as a "special episode" produced for The Ready Room.
It is the eleventh episode of The Ready Room hosted by Wil Wheaton. The episode's guests were Patrick Stewart, Christine Clark, and James MacKinnon.
Todd Cherniawsky, Neville Page, and Vincent Van Dyke also appeared in separate segments.
This was the first episode of The Ready Room to be produced during the COVID-19 pandemic. It was shot remotely at Wil Wheaton's home, as were all subsequent episodes of The Ready Room until "Kobayashi Maru" in November 2021.
When CBS All Access became Paramount+, this episode was removed from the service and became available only on YouTube.
