Edward "Ed" Cooper is a gaffer, electrician, assistant chief lighting technician and best boy within the camera and electrical department who worked as best boy on Star Trek III: The Search for Spock and as electrician on Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Enterprise. Ed Cooper and E. Cooper, who appeared on dedication plaques, were named after him.

Beside his work on Star Trek, Cooper also worked on Used Cars (1980), Nice Dreams (1981, with Adam Glick), Cat People (1982, with William D. Barber), The Winds of War (1983), Joy of Sex (1984), An Early Frost (1985, with Norman Glasser), Down and Out in Beverly Hills (1986, with Norman Glasser), Three Amigos (1986, with Greg Cantrell and Norman Glasser), and Harlem Nights (1989, with Scott McKnight).
