Scott McKnight is an electrician within the camera and electrical department who worked on Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Enterprise, Star Trek Generations, and Star Trek: Insurrection. Lt. Scott McKnight and McKnight's Planet, in-universe references seen on set artwork and okudagrams, were named after him.

McKnight also worked as set lighting technician on the crime comedy Harlem Nights (1989, with Tom Embree, Randy Nolen, Ed Cooper, Norman Glasser, and Frank X. Valdez III), as assistant chief lighting technician on the comedy sequel A Very Brady Sequel (1996), as gaffer on the short drama Last Day (2006, with Stanley Kamel), as carpenter, still photographer, videographer, and voice actor on the horror thriller Cthulhu (2007, with Dennis Tracy), as best boy electric on two episodes of Hung (2010), and as featured actor on the drama The Off Hours (2011).
