S-Gyaos (エスギャオス Esu Gyaosu?) is a kaiju from the Rebirth continuity. It made its debut in the final episode of the 2023 Netflix-exclusive animated series, Gamera: Rebirth.
Design[]
Appearance[]
S-Gyaos is unique from its kinship due to having four eyes, a two-pronged long tongue and dark-red pigmentation on its body. It later grew to a large size, appearing as a dark-red wyvern with dark yellow pigmentation, its arrow sharp head developed a fin with yellow patagia on each side, and pink pigmentation on its spine.

Childhood's End[]
The S-Gyaos was engineered by the Eustace Foundation’s board of directors, who compared it to the story of a bird that flew through time. In the present day, it emerges from the ruins of the Foundation’s Okinawa facility after Gamera’s battle with Guiron and Viras, before mauling a heavily-wounded Emiko to death and eating her. Afterwards, it began eating the corpse of Viras, eventually growing to titanic size as a result. Once fully grown, S-Gyaos attempts to fly to the island where Boco, his friends, Tazaki, and a heavily-wounded Gamera are located. Unable to get airborne, it instead crashes into the water and begins swimming towards the island. Upon reaching it, S-Gyaos is met by the Japanese Military, who bombard it with artillery in an attempt to hold it off while they heal Gamera with an Orylium-powered device like Boco and his friends had seen in a vision prior.
S-Gyaos eventually makes landfall and begins approaching Gamera’s location. Boco attempts to draw its attention by running to the island’s lighthouse, as Gamera hadn’t finished healing. However, sensing that Boco was in danger, Gamera awakens and battles the S-Gyaos. During the fight, S-Gyaos extends its tongue and forces it down Gamera’s throat, pumping an RNA virus into Gamera’s body, the Foundation’s board hoping to use this to return Gamera to his original function of destroying humanity. The US army sends reinforcements to fire on S-Gyaos, causing it to retract its tongue and allowing Gamera to continue fighting. Eventually, Gamera unleashes a powerful buzzsaw attack which generates large amounts of energy, creating a sphere of energy around him and slams into S-Gyaos, which incinerates and kills the creature.

Enhanced Growth[]
After devouring Viras' corpse, S-Gyaos was able to grow to a height towering Gamera.
Swimmming[]
Losing its flight ability due to its size, S-Gyaos gained an underwater adaptation, being able to swim at great speed.
Durability[]
Another factor gained by S-Gyao. Its hide is tough enough to withstand missiles and tank firepower.
Sonic beam[]
The Gyaos' main weapon, a magenta beam fired through the mouth.
Gravity enhanced sonic beam[]
A factor from consuming Viras' corpse, S-Gyaos' head fins are capable of generating gravitation energy to amplify its sonic beam to deliver devastating blasts to land.
Virus infusion[]
S-Gyaos can inject another Kaiju with its tongue to infuse RNA viruses with a gene code capable of reverting the target Kaiju to its original form.
