About us
Onerep is a fully automated privacy platform that removes unauthorized personal information from the internet. Google yourself. If you’re like most of us, you’ll see listings from privacy-breaching websites that reveal your street address, phone number, email, date of birth and loads of other personal tidbits. This kind of exposure leaves you vulnerable to annoyances such as spam, but also to identity theft, harassment--online and in person, as well as potential attacks at your home or office. Founded in 2015, Onerep was built to remove listings from the widest number of people-search websites, while being affordable for anyone who wants their privacy protected. We support the Fortune 500 as well as public service entities, and of course all private citizens. Onerep is a market leader and 6-time gold winner of the 2023 Cybersecurity Excellence Awards in categories that include Employee Privacy Protection, Executive Privacy Protection and Consumer Privacy Protection. Our founder and CEO was named in the Top 25 cybersecurity CEOs by the Software Report 2021. We've removed 14,000,000 unauthorized personal records, and counting.

💻 As digitization expands, so do the risks of identity theft, including through fraudulent business registrations. Understanding these risks can help consumers protect their personal information and finances from cybercriminals seeking to exploit regulatory loopholes. 👩🏽⚖️ In a blog posted by Eileen Nazarians with Identity Management Institute Here are the takeaways... -Rising Identity Theft with Business Registration Factors include online platform proliferation and data availability, enabling fraudsters to exploit vulnerabilities in registration processes. LLCs' minimal documentation requirements and fewer regulatory checks make them attractive for identity theft. Regulatory oversight gaps lead to inadequate monitoring, allowing scammers to operate with impunity. -LLC vs. Inc LLCs' simpler formation processes and flexible structures make them perceived targets, but both LLCs and corporations can be exploited depending on vulnerabilities. -Identity Theft Using LLC Scammers use stolen personal information to open LLCs and bank accounts for fraudulent transactions, including money laundering. -Advice for Consumers Monitor credit reports, statements, and mail for signs of fraud. Be cautious about sharing private information in response to unsolicited requests. -Advice for Businesses Conduct thorough research before engaging in financial transactions, especially with new entities. Maintain strong security controls, such as using strong passwords and two-factor authentication. -Red Flags Rule Businesses must implement identity theft prevention programs, including policies to detect and respond to indicators of identity theft. -Summary Technological advancements, regulatory deficiencies, and cybercriminal adaptability contribute to identity theft using business entities. Addressing this trend requires enhanced regulatory scrutiny, improved cybersecurity measures, and increased public awareness. Fraud comes from many directions. Stay safe out there! 🛡️ #frauddetection #fraudprevention #fraud #fraudprotection #consumerprivacy

This AI in Business report by editor John Desmond highlights a troubling trend in which data brokers are using AI to create incredibly thorough dossiers on millions of people by using personal data obtained from multiple sources. Congress must act quickly to regulate the $200 billion data broker industry, which operates without adequate privacy protections, according to the Brennan Center for Justice. Data brokers’ increasing sophistication, enabled by artificial intelligence, spotlights the necessity for strong legislative measures such as the American Data Privacy and Protection Act and the Fourth Amendment Is Not For Sale Act. These measures seek to strengthen people's right to privacy and close loopholes. Onerep responds to the growing risks posed by data broker practices, which may result in privacy violations and illegal activity. We combat data brokers’ advanced AI-fueled practices with our own AI-powered methodology. People are urged to stay informed, support legislative privacy measures, and keep an eye on our page for further data privacy developments.
