CORPORATE GIVING

Citizens focuses on two specific funding areas, supporting programs that:

• Teach Money Management by supporting financial literacy programs that provide individuals and businesses with the tools needed to be fiscally healthy.
• Strengthen Communities through economic development, job training and small business development.

We focus our funding on projects that serve diverse, underserved populations and neighborhoods and demonstrate strong results. We look to partner with established 501(c)(3) organizations with programs that strongly align with one or more of the above funding priorities.

Citizens considers sponsorships from a wide range of organizations and encourages creativity and innovation to develop partnerships that benefit both community organizations and the bank. Citizens seeks sponsorships that create valuable, unique and memorable experiences for its customers, colleagues and communities.

Citizens operates two Foundations—the Citizens Charitable Foundation and the Citizens Philanthropic Foundation (formerly the Roma Bank Community Foundation). These foundations provide support to nonprofit organizations that are addressing the bank’s primary giving areas of fighting hunger, fostering financial empowerment and strengthening communities through economic and workforce development.

Contributions and Sponsorships- All contribution and sponsorship applicants must complete an eligibility quiz. The eligibility quiz is designed to provide insight into whether or not your organization or program is closely aligned with our funding goals. Meeting our eligibility criteria does not guarantee you will receive funding, as we receive many requests for funding. The application is viewable if you advance beyond the eligibility quiz.

Citizens Philanthropic Foundation Grants - Organizations seeking funding from the Citizens Philanthropic Foundation must submit a preliminary application. At this time the CPF focuses the majority of its giving in the Metro New York and New Jersey areas.  All applications will be reviewed and those that are most closely aligned with our goals will advance to the next stage of the application process.

It may take up to three months for your inquiry or application to complete the contribution, sponsorship or Foundation review process.
