Hero Office[]

Sidekicks[]

Genius Office interior

Best Jeanist and his sidekicks.

The sidekicks who work under Tsunagu at Genius Office have a great amount of respect for their boss and seem to believe whole heartedly in his ideology about outward appearance. They often compliment him for doing and saying various things.

Pro Heroes[]

Edgeshot[]

Edgeshot has known Tsunagu ever since their days in U.A. High School. It was also at this point that they established the "Textile Arts Association", wherein Tsunagu was Club President.

Gang Orca[]

Gang Orca and Best Jeanist

Best Jeanist and Gang Orca.

Not much interaction has been seen between them, but Gang Orca seems to have respect for Tsunagu's skill at reforming troubled children.

Mt. Lady[]

Best Jeanist and Mt

Best Jeanist and Mt. Lady.

Tsunagu sees Mt. Lady as a rookie and finds her irritating.

He believes she doesn't understand the difference between difficulty and importance. However, he was quick to rescue her from All For One's attack, while getting himself wounded.

Hawks[]

Hawks visits Best Jeanist

Best Jeanist and Hawks.

They appear familiar with each other, as Hawks visited him after the Kamino Incident. It is implied Hawks was responsible for Tsunagu's disappearance.

Much later, it is revealed Hawks informed Tsunagu of his infiltration mission and needed his aid. Tsunagu trusted him enough to undergo a risky medical procedure that would put him in a death-like state, allowing the two to fake Tsunagu's death for several months. When the right time came, Hawks retrieved his body and revived him.

After the Paranormal Liberation War, Tsunagu went with Keigo to the house of his mother, and after learning Keigo's mother was responsible for leaking the truth about his past to Dabi. Tsunagu comforted him and remarked on how painful it must've felt for Keigo.

All Might[]

Not much is known of their status, though they worked together in a sting to defeat the League of Villains. [1] [2]

With Hawks by his side, Jeanist met All Might during the investigation into the League of Villains, wanting to learn the meaning of One For All. Knowing the stakes, All Might decided to divulge the truth about One For All to Best Jeanist and Hawks, and decided to join the team of the top three heroes.[3]

Class 1-A[]

Katsuki Bakugo[]

Best Jeanist style Katsukis hair

Best Jeanist grooming Katsuki.

Tsunagu was impressed by the strength and skills that Katsuki displayed during the U.A. Sports Festival, but was unhappy with the boys aggressive behavior. Tsunagu stated that he doesn't like people like Katsuki.[4] After the Sports Festival, he sent Katsuki an offer for an internship.

Katsuki chose Best Jeanist as a mentor for his internship, believing that studying under the then No. 4 Hero in the country would help him to become stronger. However, Best Jeanist was more interested in helping Katsuki to improve his image, rather than his skill set. Best Jeanist tried lecturing Katsuki about the importance of good behavior and altered Katsuki's appearance to make him look less intimidating by combing his hair into a neat side part and changing his Hero costume by getting rid of his mask and Grenadier Bracers and having him wear a pair of smart denim jeans in place of his usual baggy pants. This led Katsuki to believe that he chose the wrong Hero to intern under.

Katsuki, in his stubbornness, fought back against Best Jeanist's teachings no matter how much the Hero tried to instill them. Tsunagu refused to give up, but was ultimately left frustrated when he failed to accomplish his goal of making Katsuki better.

At some point during week, Best Jeanist asked Katsuki about his Hero name. Katsuki explained that all the names he chose were rejected due to being too violent. Best Jeanist offered to let Katsuki return to Genius Office in his 2nd year, after Katsuki has chosen a Hero Name and gotten his Provisional Hero License.

At the end of the internship, Katsuki considers his time with Best Jeanist to have been worthless, due not improving his skill. However, Katsuki has been revealed to have taken Tsunagu's words about heroes and villains being vastly different to heart as he refused to join the League of Villains.[2]

When they meet again, Katsuki revealed that he wanted to tell Tsunagu that he picked his hero name: Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight. Tsunagu thought it was a terrible and childish name, but did not say so out loud.[5] Despite Katsuki's attitude and hero name to be absurd for the hero, Best Jeanist still upholds his respect to Katsuki, fairing in his belief that he may well become a great hero one day.

When Katsuki decides to face Tomura head-on in the Final War unleashing his Strafe Panzer support item and going on the assault blasting Explosions all over, Best Jeanist looks on in awe at Katsuki's drive. Unfortunately, Tomura withstood against such powerful explosions from Katsuki and breaks Katsuki's arm. Best Jeanist, Mirko, and Edgeshot try to rescue him but are swiftly swatted away by Tomura, giving them a taste of his "All Might-esque power".

While the Big 3 intervene, with Mirio rescuing Katsuki by throwing him to Best Jeanist for safety, he takes Katsuki to the side, intending to sow up his arm since they still need his fire power. Seeing Katsuki's face of near defeat, he reiterates his concern, and that they'll all deal with it somehow, even though his previous experiences fighting Tomura won't help him anymore. However, Katsuki manages to let out "right side finger feint", causing Jeanist to realize that even after all of he just endured, he is not finished yet, with sparks of determination in his eyes.

"Tomura" still tries to make his way over to Katsuki, with Best Jeanist preparing to protect him with all his might, while "Tomura" simply declares that he's struggling to remain conscious now, and that they ended up building their own tomb instead. The Big 3 attempt to put down Tomura for good, but it still proves fruitless in halting him. It is then that Tomura notices Katsuki standing up, despite Jeanist's insistence on standing back, who says that they have to win.

Katsuki blasts his way forward to Tomura, who becomes further enraged at being unable to put him down so easily. Eventually, despite the Heroes attempt to stop him, Tomura manages to kill Katsuki by dealing a heavy blow to the chest, bursting his heart. Best Jeanist screams out in horror as he looks upon the hole in Katsuki's chest, exclaiming that his heart has been ravaged and has no more pulse.

Villains[]

All For One[]

All For One defeats Best Jeanist

Best Jeanist attacks All For One.

They are enemies, as standard for heroes and villains. Tsunagu is terrified by the enormous power unleashed by All For One during their first encounter, when the villain defeated him and other heroes in a few seconds with a single but powerful attack. Still, Tsunagu tries to fight back, but is easily countered and defeated by the villain. Despite this, All For One praises Tsunagu for saving his partners' lives from his initial attack, and recognizes his great skill and control over his Fiber Master, a Quirk that requires great creativity and experience to utilize to its full potential.[6]

It is later revealed the injuries Tsunagu received cost him a lung.[7]
