An Orion spy stabs Kirk in an act of violence

Violence was the act of causing destruction, pain, or suffering.

Outside the sickbay, Leonard McCoy and James T. Kirk talked about Miranda looking through Spock's mind and Kirk mentioned that even Spock felt the violence of her jealousy. (TOS: "Is There in Truth No Beauty?")

Tuvok noted in 2372 that he had studied violence for over a hundred years, and found it disturbing. (VOY: "Meld")

Following the murder of Frank Darwin, Lon Suder mind melded with Tuvok, and in the new calm, Suder felt he could observe the violent tendencies inside of himself. Though Tuvok recommended releasing his violence impulses on the holodeck, Suder believed holographic violence did not produce the same sensation as the real thing. When the USS Voyager ferried a group of Nygean prisoners, one of the guards, Yediq, justified beating Iko because of the dozens of violent crimes Iko had committed, and that violence was the only language he understood. (VOY: "Repentance")
