The USS Syracuse (NCC-17744) was a Federation Galaxy-class starship operated by Starfleet during the 24th century.

History[]

In the late 24th century, Commodore Geordi La Forge cannibalized and incorporated the Syracuse's stardrive section into his restoration of her sister ship, the USS Enterprise-D, at the Fleet Museum.

By 2401, restoration was largely complete. The stardrive section had been joined to the Enterprise's recovered saucer section, and the ship was flyable. However, the nacelle cowlings still needed work, and the ship still bore Syracuse's name and registry. (PIC: "Vox")

By 2402, the fully restored ship was docked and placed on permanent display at the Fleet Museum at Athan Prime. (PIC: "The Last Generation")

This ship was listed with other real ships in the ship list from the Star Trek Encyclopedia, 4th ed., vol. 2, p. 434.

According to a tweet by Terry Matalas, the ship's registry was NCC-1744. [1] On the Star Trek: Picard ad, displayed in Times Square in New York City, the registry is listed as NCC-17744. [2] This may refer to the Syracuse University football team. [3]

Personnel[]

As noted in his personnel file, after serving on the USS Philadelphia, Alfonse Pacelli was assigned to the Syracuse on stardate 40276.2. (TNG: "Eye of the Beholder" okudagram)
