For the DS9 episode of the same name, please see "Tribunal".

A tribunal was a court of justice.

In 2369, Kira Nerys told Aamin Marritza that the Bajoran Provisional Government was preparing his war crimes tribunal while he was being held in a holding cell aboard Deep Space 9. (DS9: "Duet")

In 2259 of the alternate reality, after a mission to Nibiru in which the indigenous population saw the USS Enterprise – an action which violated the Prime Directive, Admiral Alexander Marcus convened a special tribunal to investigate the conduct of Captain James T. Kirk. Admiral Christopher Pike, a mentor and friend to Kirk, was not invited. The tribunal ruled against Kirk and ordered that he be stripped of his command and sent back to Starfleet Academy for further training. (Star Trek Into Darkness)

In dialogue from the final draft script of ENT: "Detained", Tandaran Colonel Grat referred to a seemingly forthcoming hearing as a "Tribunal," which the proceeding is not referred to in the final version of the episode.
