During the Temporal Wars, time soldiers were common, as were temporal agents.

Yor was a time soldier that was from an alternate 2379 that was created by the temporal incursion of the Narada, a Romulan mining ship.

He crossed over into the prime universe at some point prior to 3189, and he eventually became sick due to being in both the wrong time and wrong universe.
