Usage[]

This template is used to link to X (formerly Twitter) website entries. A variable is required giving the end path to the article in question, and a second variable can be used to alter the linking text.

If no initial variable is given, the link will go to the main webpage, such as:

{{twitter}}

Which would produce:

X (formerly Twitter)

To link to a page, for example Simon Pegg's, you would have a template call as such:

{{twitter|simonpegg}}

This would produce:

[1]

If text is desired, such as "Simon Pegg's Twitter feed", the following format should be used:

{{twitter|simonpegg|Simon Pegg's Twitter feed}}

This would produce:

Simon Pegg's Twitter feed

If you wish the link to be formatted as an external link, for example on the Simon Pegg page, the following format should be used:

{{twitter|simonpegg||external}}

This would produce:

Simon Pegg at X (formerly Twitter)

If you wish the external link to display different text, the following format should be used:

{{twitter|simonpegg|Simon Pegg's Twitter feed|external}}

This would produce:

Simon Pegg's Twitter feed at X (formerly Twitter)

To indicate that a tweet or channel no longer exists, add a bl=1 variable:

{{twitter|simonpegg|Simon Pegg's Twitter feed|external|bl=1}}

This would produce:

Simon Pegg's Twitter feed(X) at X (formerly Twitter)

To link to a specific archived version of a tweet or channel on the Wayback Machine, add an archivedate variable:

{{twitter|simonpegg|Simon Pegg's Twitter feed|external|bl=1|archivedate=20230527005552}}

This would produce:

Simon Pegg's Twitter feed(X) at X (formerly Twitter)
