Unneeded reference section[]

The following references were removed as they serve no purpose as a list.

References[]

As evidenced by the first draft script of VOY: "Flashback", the Enterprise-D was originally to have been referenced in that installment, in connection to what Geordi La Forge had witnessed aboard the ship. All mention of the vessel was excised from the episode by the time the final draft of the script was issued.

They need to be correctly explored in the article's content to be correctly implemented. --Gvsualan (talk) 13:05, 4 November 2021 (UTC)

Renewed Service[]

The article lists a year of renewed service after Picard. At first it seems odd that that scene was a year later (with everyone in the same clothes) but the hull damage appears fully repaired. I'd love the ship to have more service but it seems like it took Geordi a year to finish the refurbishment before making it a formal exhibit? The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ryanpfw (talkcontribs).

I doubt it.--WarGrowlmon18 (talk) 23:54, 22 April 2023 (UTC)
I'd think - especially since it subsequently took damage while fighting the Queen's cube - on top of everything else, including the port nacelle cover, among other things, a year to get it fully ready for display seems reasonable. We don't know much about the interior - in the fly-by we can see 10 Forward is kitted out with seats, but replicators may need work, they probably still need to decorate the interior, repair the damage from the fight with the Queen's cube, clean the atmospheric scorching from the rim of the saucer (visible in several shots), as well as Geordi mentioning that there was "a ton of hull work left to do". It was more likely returned to the Fleet Museum after the battle and restoration and repair was finalized over the next year. --WTRiker (talk) 05:42, 23 April 2023 (UTC)

2401 crew?[]

Should we be including 2401 in the "command crew" section? They weren't assigned to the ship at that point, the roles they took were in some cases shifting and informal, and at least three of the people weren't even in Starfleet at the time. I suggest we omit them from this section entirely; if it's really important to note that Deanna moved to the Conn station for a minute or Geordi briefly sat in the captain's chair it can be addressed in the body of the article. Disco McCoy (talk) 14:46, 25 April 2023 (UTC)

There really is no benefit to it...they were, for all intents and purposes on a joyride, and quite frankly there is generally too much value placed on someone sitting in a captain's chair for 5 minutes, or a taking the conn for 3 minutes...and referencing it as an permanent role versus actually being assigned to the position in an official capacity. –Gvsualan (talk) 14:53, 25 April 2023 (UTC)
That is an excellent point. I'm also removing the references to the Enterprise-D "returning to service" in 2401, since that doesn't accurately reflect the situation. –Disco McCoy (talk) 22:55, 25 April 2023 (UTC)
