Rank history[]
Did Saru skip a rank because it says he went to lieutenant to commander when he went to the Discovery. I thought he got promoted to lieutenant commander when he went the Discovery and at the end of the war he got promoted to commander. – The preceding unsigned comment was added by Hunter R. - Based on how the article reads, I believe he was a Lieutenant in the flashback to when Burnham first came aboard, is shown to be a Lieutenant Commander in the "present" during the battle of the Binary Stars, and then is shown to be a Commander while aboard Discovery. - AJ Halliwell (talk) 18:25, December 8, 2018 (UTC)

Languages[]
So, they have stated that Saru speaks 94 languages, but in S4 E11, Burnham tells Rillak "Mr. Saru can speak over a hundred languages, ..." when Rillak wonders why Saru joins the survey mission. Is there anything known about how he learned new languages, what languages or if that was plainly a canon ignoring exaggeration? ෴ Pixelmonarch (talk) 14:23, 28 September 2023 (UTC)
