Garak and Bashir were both written as heterosexual, but Andrew Robinson actively chose to portray Garak as attracted to multiple genders and saw this as an integral part of the character, as he explains in his novel A Stitch in Time. Robinson and Siddig both made choices in their acting to emphasize the idea that their characters were attracted to each other. {{incite|Need a cite for Siddig's participation}} Garak and Bashir's first meeting in "Past Prologue" was when Robinson made his initial decision to portray his character as LGBTQ. {{incite|Is this from an interview or an author note from the novel?}}

This is fascinating and all, but no representation without citation... --Alan (talk) 15:09, July 17, 2020 (UTC)

Julian Amoros[]

The article mentions that "In the "DS9 Bible", while most of the characters had several pages describing their back-story and giving information on their psychology, Amoros' description was simply, "a Human male in his mid-twenties; may have an accent depending on casting."" However, in the version of the show bible recently linked to by StarTrek.com (so I gotta think there's some authority behind that), it has quite a bit more information. Were there multiple versions of the bible being used? Either way, I would think that the background information here should be updated.  -Platypus Man | Talk 21:22, 31 August 2021 (UTC)

Visible in the show?[]

[1] Apparently, Bashir wrote a book. But I dunno if you can actually make it out on the show. --LauraCC (talk) 02:07, 21 June 2023 (UTC)
