Sydney "Syd" Jay Mead (18 July 193330 December 2019; age 86) was a conceptual artist and illustrator who worked on Star Trek: The Motion Picture. For the first 1979 Star Trek film, he created concept art of V'ger. His art for the film was collected in The Movie Art of Syd Mead: Visual Futurist.
