In 2365, after Wesley Crusher requested to stay onboard USS Enterprise-D, Captain Jean-Luc Picard granted permission for him to do so and told Wesley to contact his mother at Starfleet Medical headquarters and pass on his regards and his permission, deferring to her wishes. (TNG: "The Child")
