Star Trek Into Darkness is the Blu-ray 3D release of Star Trek Into Darkness. The release contains a Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray, DVD (omitted from some releases), and a digital copy of the film. The regular releases came with their discs mounted in the standard plastic snapcase and packaged within the customary cardboard slipcover.

Various limited edition sets were also available of which the one with the Hot Wheels USS Vengeance starship miniature came in four UK (2x), Australian and Taiwanese, variants.

While in several cases still being marketed as region-restricted, it is in actuality a region-free release as this has increasingly become commonplace for the Blu-ray format, and despite the customary region indication on the back covers – which however, were dispensed with for the European regular originating Blu-ray releases.

While the North American set was released concurrently with the regular release, the German set was released four months after its, whereas the French set was released six days prior. A Region A US version of the set had been released as well, but that set lacked the Blu-ray 3D disc.

Embossed variants of each of the three SteelBooks were issued on 14 November 2013 as Region C releases (though region-free in actuality) in mainland China by the company Blufans in the same, otherwise similarly, executed exclusive gift sets. Unlike the sets released elsewhere though, each SteelBook variant came additionally stored in a different hardboard slipcase, featuring one of the three main characters of the film on the cover. The sets were limited to 500 individually numbered copies each. Four postcards and a booklet were included as a bonus. [3] For the diehard fans an option was offered to collect all three SteelBook slipcase variants as a matching bundle. [4]
  4. The Australian "Hot Wheels" retailer exclusive gift set made use of the same packaging that was developed for the later, January 2014 Japanese Star Trek Into Darkness Blu-ray only gift set, [5]. Lacking was the comic book that was to go with the Japanese release.
  5. Limited to 4,000 copies
  6. The same SteelBook was also used for the two-disc holding variant as released in Taiwan, South Korea, [6] and the Czech Republic.
