Solar irradiance was a measurement of the amount of solar power received at an observer's location.

In 3189, when analyzing the radiation detected on the USS Tikhov by the sensors of the USS Discovery, a team led by Ensign Sylvia Tilly conducted a study of the local solar irradiance. The results were displayed in a graph. (DIS: "Die Trying")
