A season was a major time division within the period of a year on a planet.

On Earth, winter, spring, summer, and fall were the common seasons. (DS9: "Past Tense, Part II", "The Visitor") While the USS Voyager was stuck in orbit of Kelemane's planet, a planet that experienced one day for every 1.03 seconds on Voyager, Captain Kathryn Janeway noted that they were "watching the seasons change in a matter of seconds." (VOY: "Blink of an Eye")

Sports had seasons in which they were most often played, such as baseball and skiing season. (TOS: "The Enemy Within"; TNG: "Evolution")

An alien species on an unnamed planet also divided the year into seasons. Their deuterium mining colony was ripped off the deuterium by a group of Klingon marauders for five seasons until 2152. (ENT: "Marauders")

While undergoing Kolinahr during the 2270s, Spock labored many seasons to renounce and shed all emotion in order, according to the Vulcan master, to prove himself worthy to receive the symbol of pure logic. (Star Trek: The Motion Picture)

During Ira Graves funeral in 2365, Data (who was possessed by Graves), described the deceased as "a man for all seasons," meaning he was prepared for anything, anytime. (TNG: "The Schizoid Man")

Following the Mintakans introduction to idea of "the Picard" in 2366, Liko noted that the unexpected off-season arrival lightning was a warning that their overseer was angry. (TNG: "Who Watches The Watchers")
