Sean Cochran (born 2 August 1986; age 37) is the television writer who worked as staff writer, along with Kirsten Beyer and Kemp Powers, on the first season of Star Trek: Discovery, and as story editor on the second season and executive story editor on the third season. In addition, he wrote three episodes of Discovery and provided the story for the Star Trek: Short Treks episode "Calypso", with Michael Chabon.

Cochran has performed various production-related roles on several TV series, including production secretary, production assistant, and as assistant to executive producers. The series he worked on include Lipstick Jungle, Mercy, Off the Map, GCB, and Revenge. He also worked on the TV movie Off Duty in 2009.
