Russell Herpich, often credited simply as Russ Herpich, was a special effects technician on Star Trek: First Contact. He also worked as the makeup lab foreman for the Proteus Make-up FX Team on Star Trek.

Herpich is an employee at the special effects company Creature Effects Inc., where he has worked on such films as The Arrival (1996), Scary Movie 2 (2001), Van Wilder, Seabiscuit (2003), The Last Samurai (2003, written by John Logan), The Alamo, Flicka, In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale (starring Kristanna Loken, Ron Perlman and John Rhys-Davies) and 300 (2006). His most recent work with Creature Effects was The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.

In addition, Herpich worked as special effects technician, mechanical engineer and makeup effects artist for the now-defunct company Captive Audience Productions. During his time at Captive Audience, Herpich worked on such films as The Exorcism of Emily Rose (2006), Scary Movie 4 (2006), World Trade Center (2006) and Apocalypto. Herpich also worked as a mold maker for Amalgamated Dynamics Inc. on Cast Away (2000).
