Deacon Ramse was the name of a character in the novel The Pallid Son, part of the Dixon Hill series.
He was a mob boss in San Francisco and an enemy of the rich and influential members of the secretive The Titan Club. Because of his ongoing conflict with the club, he was considered as a possible suspect in the murders of the club's members. (PIC: "Watcher")
