Vehicles parked next to parking meters
A parking meter was a device used to collect the money of a person desiring to park their vehicle in a certain spot, namely their automobile.
In 2004, when Captain Jonathan Archer and Sub-commander T'Pol were on an away mission in 21st century Detroit, they walked down a sidewalk and found a number of cars and trucks parked on the side of the street next to parking meters. (ENT: "Carpenter Street")
