A multiphasic stasis field was a type of disruptive stasis field, capable of pulling a starship out of warp to a full stop and disrupting shield harmonics.
In 2257, the USS Discovery was pulled out of warp to a dead stop by what preliminary analysis indicated was a multiphasic stasis field projected by a Sphere lifeform. When the sphere later detonated, it reversed the field's polarity to push Discovery clear to safety. (DIS: "An Obol for Charon")
