Doctor Moritz Benayoun was a male Human physician that lived during the late 24th century. He was an old friend of Jean-Luc Picard; they served together aboard the USS Stargazer and remained friends for decades afterwards.
In 2399, after meeting Dahj Asha, retired Admiral Picard, hoping to gain Starfleet's permission to be reinstated to active duty, sought out Dr. Benayoun to certify him as fit for interstellar service. (PIC: "Maps and Legends")
Later that year, as Picard had flashbacks as his life was ending, he recalled the conversation he had with Benayoun. (PIC: "Et in Arcadia Ego, Part 1")
Dr. Benayoun was played by David Paymer.
