In universe, the Tactical Ops personnel M. Moreira and M. Moreira (mirror) on the Discovery and ISS Discovery dedication plaques are named after him.
Before joining Star Trek, Moreira was a prop master and buyer for the first two seasons of The Expanse. [3] He was also the property master for Heroes: Reborn, featuring Nazneen Contractor.

With the announcement of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Moreira confirmed that during COVID-19 isolation, he'd been preparing "new and old prop designs together for whatever strange new worlds we go to!" [6]
