Maggie Schpak (2002)

Maggie Schpak (1 March 194423 June 2024; age 80) was a costume and jewelry designer who worked on the first three Star Trek films alongside her then-husband and business partner, costume designer Robert Fletcher.

Schpak and Fletcher were co-owners of Studio Art Metal, and she worked closely with her husband and his design team to create the intricate clothing for Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, and Star Trek III: The Search for Spock. Her favorite job, and what she thought they did the best on, were the Vulcan robes and jewelry for The Search for Spock. She also worked on several Klingon accoutrements.

She was interviewed in the special features for the Star Trek III: The Search for Spock (Special Edition) DVD.

In all, Schpak and Studio Art Metal had contributed to all thirteen films, as well as all four of the original spin-off series. (Star Trek: Costumes, pp. 68-70)

Schpak passed away on June 23, 2024 at the age of 80. [1]
