The Kobayashi Maru data screen mentioning Vance
Kojiro Vance was the illusory master of the Kobayashi Maru, used in the Starfleet Academy training scenario.
In the scenario, Vance's ship struck a gravitic mine in the Klingon Neutral Zone, causing the ship to lose power. The explosion from the mine penetrated the ship's hull, causing many casualties and necessitating the sending of a distress call. (Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan; PRO: "Kobayashi") Upon hearing his distress call, Jankom Pog referred to Vance and his crew as a "bunch of whiners". (PRO: "Kobayashi")
This character appeared as an off-screen voiceover.
His name was only given in writing.
His voice was provided by David Ruprecht, for which he was credited as both "Radio Voice" and "Kobayashi Maru Captain".
