Katalin Elek (born 11 April 1943; age 81) is a Hungarian makeup artist who worked as special makeup artist on Star Trek V: The Final Frontier. She is the wife of fellow makeup artist Zoltan Elek, who worked on Star Trek Nemesis.

Elek received an Emmy Award nomination in the category Outstanding Makeup for a Series in 1987 for the Max Headroom episode "Security Systems", shared with her husband. In 1990 she won the Emmy Award in this category for the Alien Nation episode "Chains of Love", shared with Rick Stratton, Richard Snell, and Ken Diaz. Elek received another nomination in 1993 in the category Outstanding Individual Achievement in Makeup for a Miniseries or a Special for her work on the television drama Stalin.

One of Elek's first credited makeup work was as a crew member for Rob Bottin on Legend (1985). Beside her work on the television series Max Headroom (1987) and Alien Nation (1989-1990), she also worked on SpaceCamp (1986, with Janice Alexander and Zoltan Elek), The Monster Squad (1987), Leviathan (1989), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989, with John Rhys-Davies), Rocky V (1990), Double Impact (1991, working with Janice Alexander and Karen Asano-Myers), Nowhere to Run (1993), Police Academy: Mission to Moscow (1994, with Ron Perlman and David Graf), Sudden Death (1995), Independence Day (1996), Maximum Risk (1996), Godzilla (1998), and Legionnaire (1998).

More recent work include The Terminal (2004, with Zoë Saldana, Jude Ciccolella, Michael Nouri, and Conrad Pla, and makeups by Edouard F. Henriques, Sandra Rowden, and Kim Santantonio), Hostage (2005), A Sound of Thunder (2005), Threshold (2005, starring Brent Spiner), and The Black Dahlia (2006, with Ed French and Terry Baliel).
