Karen Sue Thomas-Kolakowski is an animal trainer who worked for Critters of the Cinema on episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Voyager and on Star Trek Generations.

Thomas-Kolakowski and Rob Bloch were the trainers who worked with the four cats (Monster, Brandy, Bud, and Tyler) who portrayed Spot during the sixth and seventh seasons of TNG. The two and Kelli Cole also worked as trainers for Monster, Brandy, Spencer, and Zoe on Star Trek Generations.

In addition, Thomas-Kolakowski, Bloch, and LuJean Rose trained the Labrador Retriever puppies for the sixth season episode "True Q" and together with Carrie Toth and Debbie Silverman the fourteen cats Bacall, Uma, Zeke, Bandit, Wendy, Shelley, Crystal, Sinbad, Sascha, Justin, Aspen, Caesar, Buffy, and Fido for the final TNG episode "All Good Things...".

In 1995, Thomas-Kolakowski teamed up with John Baldwin as trainers for the spawn beetles in the VOY second season episode "Elogium".

Other projects as animal trainer include the crime comedy Suicide Kings (1997, with Rob Bloch and Cynthia Coulter) and the television movie Murder 101: If Wishes Were Horses (2007, with Sarah Clifford and Claire Doré).
