John Charles Palmer is a special effects technician, coordinator and supervisor who worked for WonderWorks Inc. as special effects coordinator on Star Trek: The Next Generation and as special effects project supervisor on the Star Trek: Voyager first season episode "Caretaker".
Palmer joined WonderWorks Inc. in the early 1980s and contributed to Something Wicked This Way Comes (1983), SpaceCamp (1986), Captain EO (1986, with Harold Weed and George Paine), Pee-wee's Playhouse, Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold (1986), Project X (1987), Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future (1987-1988), Something Is Out There (1988), Moonwalker (1988), the adventure Journey to the Center of the Earth (1989), The Abyss (1989), Back to the Future Part II (1989), Grand Canyon (1991), Apollo 13 (1995), Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie (1997), Species II (1998), Deep Impact (1998) and Armageddon (1998), and Battlestar Galactica: The Second Coming (1999).
Further credits include Space Cowboys (2000), Race to Space (2001), Odyssey 5 (2002, starring Peter Weller) and The Twilight Zone (2002-2003), The Core (2003) and The Day After Tomorrow (2004), The Astronaut Farmer (2006), and Apollo 18 (2011).
