A hood was an article of headgear that was often attached to a larger garment, such as a shirt, jacket, robe, or cloak.
In 2370, Gia asked "Jayden" why he was wearing a hood. He explained that he didn't want to scare her. She promised she wouldn't be and asked him to remove it. He did so, revealing his android nature. (TNG: "Thine Own Self")
The Takarian poem Song of the Sages mentioned the that Holy Sages "lifted Takar's blinding hood." (VOY: "False Profits")
