The Haru outposts were Cardassian military outposts during the Cardassian Occupation of Bajor.
During the occupation, Kira Nerys, as a member of the Bajoran Resistance, was a participant in the raids on the Haru outposts. She considered it something she wasn't proud of, even if she believed in what she was doing. Years later, she still had nightmares about the raids. (DS9: "Past Prologue") Shaxs also participated in the raids, saving Kira's life on one occasion. (LD: "Hear All, Trust Nothing")
