General Gosis was a male alien military officer of a country on a planet.
In 2152, an Observation team consisting of Captain Jonathan Archer, Lieutenant Malcolm Reed, and Ensign Hoshi Sato visited the planet covertly, as the civilation was pre-warp. When Archer and Reed returned to the planet to retrieve a lost communicator, they were captured by military forces under Pell, and Gosis was informed of their capture.
Believing they were enemy spies for the Alliance (another political power on the planet, whose members were enemies of Gosis), Gosis interrogated them and discovered they were wearing prosthetics and had red blood. He had them medically examined by Doctor Temec. Upon the doctor's concluding that they were super soldiers genetically enhanced by the Alliance, Gosis ordered that Reed and Archer should be executed by hanging so that their organs could be studied thoroughly. However, they were rescued by Enterprise NX-01 before the sentence could be carried out. Gosis watched many of his soldiers fall to their weapons and the alien cloaked ship take off.
Gosis and his immediate forces would be left believing that the Alliance had much more advanced technology than they previously thought, resulting in cultural contamination for his species. (ENT: "The Communicator")
Gosis was played by Francis Guinan.
In the final draft script of "The Communicator", he was described thus; "Gosis is an ambitious and ruthless officer; he's prone to paranoia when it comes to defending his government and its territory."
