The Gallough was a freighter similar to the Federation Antares-class, in service during the 23rd century. It had been modified to carry passengers.
In 2257, the Gallough was transporting refugees from Meslah V, among them Machalka and her daughter Oriana, to the Betteen colonies. The ship disappeared en route; an extensive search uncovered no traces of its fate, and its 91 passengers and crew were listed as missing.
Two years later, Oriana was found and rescued by the USS Peregrine, revealing that the Gallough had fallen victim to the Gorn. (SNW: "All Those Who Wander" display graphic)
