First Republic (Cardassian)

The Cardassian First Republic was a government that existed on Cardassia Prime in the 23rd century.

It was an era known for its serialist poetry including the work by serialist poet Iloja of Prim. (DS9: "Destiny")

Although we do not know why or when Iloja was exiled, it must have occurred sometime during the lifetime of Tobin Dax (who met him on Vulcan), i.e., after the death of Lela Dax in 2226, but before Emony Dax would encounter Leonard McCoy sometime in the 2240s.
