Elasticity was the ability of an object to stretch and shrink back to its normal size.

In 2270, Spock reasoned that the elasticity of the force globe around Kukulkan's city was only able to stretch in one direction at a time, and therefore if force were applied in two different directions at once, it would become brittle enough to break under the strain of warp power.
