Ed Charnock (10 November 1937 – 31 October 1996; age 58), also credited as Ed Charnock, Jr., was a painter who worked in the art department of Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Voyager, and at least two Star Trek films.
Several items in Star Trek have been named for Ed, including:
- Charnock's Comedy Cabaret (TNG: "The Outrageous Okona")
- Chanockian (TNG: "Rascals")
- Ed Charnock, Jr. (Starfleet) (TNG: "Violations", "All Good Things..."; VOY: "Projections")
- Delta Charnock IX (TNG: "Inheritance")
Charnock also worked on Shōgun (1980) as a painter and on the drama Some Kind of Wonderful in 1987 as a paint foreman.
He was retired from Paramount Pictures at the time of his death.
