In 2366, the USS Enterprise-D detected no Romulan base, weapons, or signs of life on the planet Nelvana III inside the Romulan Neutral Zone, despite defector Alidar Jarok's claims to having seen tactical communiqués, records, timetables for completion, and an entire legion that was assigned to the area. Captain Jean-Luc Picard asked if it was possible that Jarok had been fed disinformation as he had previously been censured and reassigned and his dissatisfaction had been known. (TNG: "The Defector")
