Chronophage, commonly called Time bugs, were Krenim devices. They were bug-shaped devices that had time disruption ability where it would freeze an item into a specific point in space from an observer point of view. This lasts till the Time bugs loses power, which could take months. The Chronophage is equipped with temporal shields that create a bubble of hyper-accelerated time, which means anyone or anything that attempts to touch it will age into dust within moments.
In 3191 on Trill, Moll, disguised as a Guardian, planted a chonophage on Adira Tal. When Tal returned to USS Discovery, the chronophage moved to engineering and activated. This caused the ship to be stuck and paralyzed in time. (DIS: "Jinaal", "Face the Strange")
