As established in the final draft script of the Star Trek: Enterprise third season episode "Carpenter Street", the Chicago Bears were an American football team based in Chicago during the early 21st century.
In the script, Charles Tucker III noted to Jonathan Archer – in 2153, moments before Archer traveled back in time to 2004 – that the Bears had been Chicago's football team and that their name matched that of Chicago's baseball team, the Cubs.
