CNN was a news broadcasting television network.
In the alternate 2259, footage from this network showing Starfleet personnel was in a collection of graphics and video media that were seen on a large powerwall in the offices of Christopher Pike and Alexander Marcus at Starfleet Headquarters. (Star Trek Into Darkness)
