Barbara Baldavin (18 October 193831 March 2024; age 85) was an actress who played Angela Martine as well as Lisa in four episodes of Star Trek: The Original Series. Her appearance in "Space Seed" ended up as a deleted scene.

Baldavin appeared in a handful of smaller roles on TV and feature films between 1966 and 1993. She was best known for her recurring role as Nurse Holmby on the TV show Medical Center (1969-76), which starred James Daly. Baldavin was married to Star Trek casting director Joseph D'Agosta and later became a casting director herself. She was also the agent of actress Dawn Wells with who she shared her birth date, and taught at Wells' Film Actors Boot Camp.

She appeared in guest roles on series such as The Fugitive (with Joseph Campanella, Clint Howard, and Don Eitner), Mannix (with Joseph Campanella, Marianna Hill, Victor Lundin, Brooke Bundy, Peter Brocco, and Noble Chissell), Columbo (with Don Keefer, John Arndt, and Mark Russell), McMillan & Wife (with John Schuck, Nehemiah Persoff, and Ed McCready), Baretta (with Paul Williams and Kim Darby), Barnaby Jones (starring Lee Meriwether, with Jason Evers and Paul Sorensen), Charlie's Angels (with Stanley Kamel, Paul Sorensen, and Arthur Tovey, directed by Cliff Bole), The Bionic Woman (with Nehemiah Persoff and Richard Lynch), Fantasy Island (starring Ricardo Montalban, with Theodore Bikel, Jane Wyatt, Jessie Biscardi, and Arthur Tovey), and Quincy M.E. (starring Garry Walberg, with Robert Ito, Skip Homeier, and Momo Yashima). She also made an uncredited appearance in the 1974 film Airport 1975 (with Irene Tsu, Gene Dynarski, Robert Ito, Lloyd Kino, Clyde Kusatsu, Charles Seel, and Sally Yarnell, written by Don Ingalls).

When Baldavin was cast by her husband for a second Star Trek appearance in "Shore Leave", her character in the script was called "Mary Teller," but crew on the set realized she had played a major character named Angela Martine in "Balance of Terror", so she was called that in dialogue. However, William Shatner still calls her "Teller" at one point. Later, she played "Yeoman Baker" in "Space Seed" and a communications officer addressed as "Lisa" in "Turnabout Intruder".

Baldavin filmed her scenes for "Balance of Terror" on Monday 25 July 1966 at Desilu Stage 9. She filmed her scenes for "Shore Leave" on Wednesday 19 October 1966 and Friday 21 October 1966 at Africa, USA. She filmed her deleted scene for "Space Seed" on Wednesday 21 December 1966 at Stage 9. The scene involved her interaction with Marla McGivers, a friend. [1] She filmed her scenes for "Turnabout Intruder" on Tuesday 7 January 1969 and Wednesday 8 January 1969, also at Stage 9.

Baldavin passed away on 31 March 2024 at the age of 85. [2] [3] Baldavin died of congestive heart failure at her home in Manhattan Beach. [4]
