Areore ship (small)

The Areore ship was a type of small starship used by the ancient Areore in their interstellar wars. It was equipped with deflector shields and potent energy weapons of a design unknown to the Federation in the 24th century.

When the ancient Areore decided to return to a pre-industrial lifestyle, they abandoned their ships in underground caves on Areolus. In 2381, Rawda showed these ships to Peanut Hamper, who secretly invited Drookmani scavengers to take them as part of a plan to redeem herself to Starfleet. A Drookmani ship later arrived and began tearing the ships out of the ground with a tractor beam. After Peanut Hamper destroyed the Drookmani ship from within, the enraged Drookmani beamed to the Areore ship they had excavated and launched an attack on the Areore village and the USS Cerritos above.

The Cerritos crew found that the small Areore ship's weapons were somehow capable of penetrating their shields, and that it was nimble enough to evade the Cerritos' phasers. With his village burning and the Cerritos outmatched, Rawda took control of a larger Areore ship and shot down the Drookmani. (LD: "A Mathematically Perfect Redemption")
