Apergos was an inhabited planet that was the homeworld of the Apergosians, a technologically advanced humanoid species. It had a single moon.

The capital city of Apergos contained structures built by individuals whom the Apergosians called the Ancient Ones. When the Apergosians underwent their industrial revolution, these buildings became covered with soot and were never cleaned. Over time, the Apergosians forgot their attributes, including that they were decorated with colorful murals. A notable sight in the city was the Museum of Popular Music.

In 2381, the USS Cerritos conducted a second contact mission to Apergos to have the Apergosian High Leader choose a subspace communication number. Captain Carol Freeman also authorized a side mission by Ensign Beckett Mariner to power-wash a few buildings in the capital city to show the Apergosians the value of cleaning their public spaces. In doing so, Mariner accidentally activated a structure made by the Ancient Ones that harnessed strange energy, which granted Commander Jack Ransom god-like powers. Ransom proceeded to wreak havoc until he was subdued. (LD: "Strange Energies")

The mural Mariner uncovered depicted various sea animals resembling whales and fish, which may represent some of the planet's native lifeforms.
