Aluura was a Human dabo girl who began working at Quark's Bar, Grill, Gaming House and Holosuite Arcade in 2374.

After three months of employment there, Quark received his first employee performance report on her, and was truly impressed with what he read, noting that "no customer has filed a single complaint against you. You haven't spilled a drink, mixed up a food order or short-changed a bill." She told Quark that she took her "job very seriously" and he was still further impressed that "And yet [she] always manages to wear a friendly smile."

Quark further noted that she was nice to everyone, but he wanted her to be "nicer" to him, and gave her the book Oo-mox for Fun and Profit. He later withdrew the request, although Aluura was actually interested after reading the book. While doing so, he gave her a raise of three slips of gold-pressed latinum per week. (DS9: "Profit and Lace")

Aluura was played by Symba Smith.

The script for "Profit and Lace" describes Aluura as "a beautiful, Amazonian, young dabo girl"'. (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Companion - A Series Guide and Script Library, [1])

The character also appears in the Star Trek: Typhon Pact novels Plagues of Night and Raise the Dawn.
