2-XL was an educational toy originally produced by Mego Corporation from 1978-1981. A revised version of the toy was made by Tiger Electronics from 1992-1995. This later version used standard cassette tapes as opposed to the 8-track-style tapes used by the Mego version.

The toy used multiple tracks recorded on the tape to either teach subjects, or play games such as trivia or "Which Way" or "Choose Your Own Adventure"-style adventures. Users had a set of four buttons on the front of the toy that would switch which "track" on the tape was being played, and thus determine the path of the program (right or wrong answers, or multiple story paths).

One Star Trek-related "adventure tape" was made for the Tiger 2-XL, Star Trek: The Next Generation - Blinded by the Light.
