At 73, Chandrakanth faced many naysayers when he transitioned to #agroforestry. The question of whether tree-based farming was worth the risk did not dissuade him. He candidly reflected, "When everything else fades, the trees will remain—they are nature's healers. I had no doubts about the trees, but natural farming coupled with water scarcity made the transition more challenging. The support from SayTrees through training and expert connections provided me with the right approach at the right time." To sustain his saplings, Chandrakanth relied on his horse to transport water. "I would fill canisters from nearby canals, and my horse and I would gallop to the land. It sounds cinematic, but we are living in times when lived stories inspire communities, not just audiences," he shares. Chandrakanth's courage just needed a support system. You can help more farmers like Chandrakanth as they farm in the most trying times of anthropological climate change. SayTrees works with Government and many corporate organisations to promote sustainable development of cities while maintaining the green cover of the cities. The group is actively supported by thousands of volunteers from kids, teens to senior citizens all working together to make their cities green. Our Mission: Each one must Plant one tree in a year. The idea is simple; just plant one tree in a year and look after it as your own family member. Join our "Farmer First Future in #Maharashtra" movement! Whether you're from Maharashtra or call it your home, help us plant fruit trees with small, marginal, and marginalised tribal farmers of Melghat. Make a difference today! Why you should not sleep on it? In the undulating arras of Melghat's tribal belt, where traditional crops yield meagre returns, SayTrees is nurturing a verdant transformation. Recognizing the limitations of these slopes, farsighted farmers are embracing the potential of fruit tree cultivation. Witnessing a remarkable display of communal solidarity, farmers from Kajaldoh, Bodu, Borda, Palshya, and Kulangana join hands, their collective efforts exceeding 40,000 meticulously dug pits. This exemplifies the indomitable potential of making a difference for small marginal and marginalised under-resourced farmers. 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐲, 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐫𝐮! 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲'𝐬 𝐋𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐬, 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐚 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞 Since 2022, we've been transforming a landfill in Somasundarpalay via natural reclamation. This community-driven project, backed by generous corporate donors, is an exemplary execution of how we can make a difference in core urban spaces like Bengaluru. While green spaces become a premium selling point for estates, we're making nature accessible for everyone by planting in common lands. This makes "nature bathing" an equitable and inclusive experience for all. Join our tribe! Through our program, Annamma was introduced to soil-friendly methods, multi-cropping, and multi-layered tree plantation. These activities has significantly boosted her income by increasing her farm's productivity via diversified assets. Now, she's selling fresh vegetables weekly in her local "farmer bazaar", which she also uses for household consumption. We extend our heartfelt thanks to LTIMindtree for their support. 𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠!!! 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂 𝐑𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐦'𝐬 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐦 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝐂𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠! Southern India’s arid farmlands are showing significant benefit from our flagship agroforestry program, "Climate-Proofing Farms and Livelihoods." This innovative approach integrates trees into agricultural landscapes to enhance sustainability. Trees act as windbreaks, reducing soil erosion and boosting moisture retention in dry climates. Cultivating fruit and timber trees alongside traditional crops has increased yields even in regions with limited rainfall. Farmers diversify their income through multi-layered fruit harvesting and poly-cropping while participating in carbon offset initiatives. By mitigating climate change through these sustainable practices, farmers not only improve their livelihoods but also contribute to a healthier environment, earning rewards for their efforts. (C. Huge thanks to PwC India for their commitment to the environment! #sustainability #miyawaki #treesforlife #pwcindia
Our Advisory team is partnering with SayTrees to plant 16,000+ saplings – one for each member of the unit – in an effort to protect and save our environment. The plantation will take place in two phases; in Phase 1, colleagues planted 6,000 saplings across Delhi-NCR and Kolkata using the Miyawaki method of afforestation, an effective and efficient solution to revive green cover in urban spaces. Here’s a glimpse of how it went! #TogetherWeFuture #EnvironmentalStewardship #GoGreen #Sustainability Arnab Basu | Jaivir Singh | Sanjoy Banerjee | Sanjeev Krishan

Small, marginal and marginalized farmers can create a more resilient ecosystem by integrating trees into farmland. This restores vital nutrients to the soil and provides much-needed shade and wind protection for crops. Agroforestry empowers these communities by offering a diversified harvest, with fruits and timber alongside their crops. This translates to greater food security and economic opportunity. Let's support the spread of agroforestry as a powerful tool to heal our landscapes and empower our people.
