Story[]

World War III Part 1: Havoc
When Destro turns control of M.A.R.S. over to Cobra Commander, the government reinstates all the members of the G.I. Joe team and authorizes any force necessary to take them down. A small team of Joes bring in Ghost Bear and Cobra Mortal. Cobra Commander starts getting the wheels of his latest plan in motion.

Summary[]

In Dagestan, Flint and Roadblock walk out into a street protecting a Chechen Rebel leader. Gung-Ho and Cover Girl, reinstated to active duty, catch Cobra Mortal as he is line up the scope of his sniper rifle. Instead, he jumps of the roof to a lower roof firing at them. The Joes begin to chase him. Flint is caught off guard by another sniper but Roadblock makes Ghost Bear, another cobra sniper, dive for cover.

In Darfur, Cobra Commander is flying in a helicopter with a blindfolded Lt. Nick Bailey. He graduated top of his class from Brown Universary and top of his classs in Army Ranger scholl. Bailey's brother, Isaiah, was an Army Ranger that was killed in Somalia during the "Black Hawk Down" incident. Bailey feels that his government abandoned his brother, but yet Bailey still join the Army. Cobra Commander has been talking to him over the years and now it's Bailey's time to choose.

M.A.R.S. Headquarters in Scotland, Alexander Destro and Mistress Armada are arguing over the health of his father Destro and whether his decision to give the family company, M.A.R.S. to Cobra was a sane one. Either way Mistress Armada points out that Alexander is now the true Laird Destro. They are interrupted and requested to leave.

Back in Darfur, Cobra vipers have rounded up several Janjaweed milita soldiers, these are the soldiers that have brutalized women, orphaned children and killed many men. Cobra Commander orders Bailey to his vipers in executing these soldiers, Bailey argues and joins in. After it is over Cobra says "Only Cobra stands against such filth, we strike quickly, lethally, uninhibited by the laws of craven bureaucrats. Justice without pity, without hesitation that is our sole creed. I've shown you all I can now it is time for you chose." Bailey then takes Cobra Commander's pistol and agrees. The Commander calls Tomax to get an update that the Janjaweed Milita has just placed a big order with M.A.R.S.. He then orders him to gets orders from the Sudanese, Chechen and Russian governments.

In Dagestan, Gung-Ho and Cover Girl have split up to catch Ghost Bear and Cobra Mortal. Cover Girl catches up to Ghost Bear and a knife fight starts. Cover Girl gets a couple of hits in but Ghost Bear knocks her to ground and moves in for the final killing knife stab. But Cover Girl kicks his knee breaking it and then captures him. As Gung-Ho rounds a corner Cobra Mortal gets the drop on him, shots him in the ear and drops a grenade near the he avoids. Gung-Ho's response is "Damn, I'm rusty". Wild Bill and Shipwreck are on the Cobra escape boat. As Cobra Mortal approaches Wild Bill pulls out his six guns firing away. Cobra Mortal then jumps into the water where Shipwreck immediately captures him. Cover Girl shows up with the captured Ghost Bear and Shipwreck's nervousness about his girlfriend is eased.

Back at The Rock, the entire active team assembles for a meeting, General Colton gives them a speech that lays out the battle that is coming and that the President has given the Joe carte blanche to wipe out Cobra. The Joe team is going on the attack.

In Boston, a priest is sitting in a confessional. The unseen confessor, a regular who doesn't normal speak says "What if you knew all this was going to end?". The confessor knows that war is coming and doesn't think anything can stop it.
